Moi University

Description

Moi University is a premier institution of higher learning in Kenya with a vision of becoming a University of choice in nurturing innovation and talent in science, technology and development. It was established in 1984 as the second Kenyan public university and is situated in a serene environment 36 Kms South of Eldoret town and 300km North West of Nairobi. Since establishment, the university has grown from a paltry 83 students to a current student population of over 42,000 distributed in fifteen schools and six campuses across the country. Moi University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning and research thus providing global leadership in a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, business management & economics, information sciences, human resource development, health sciences, natural sciences and liberal arts.

The faculty members involved in the East Africa Network of Excellence for Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) from Moi University are Dr. David Njuguna, Dr Cleophas Achisa and Prof Simiyu Sitati from the School of Engineering, Dr Charles Lagat from the School of Business & Economics and Dr. Monica Kurui from the International Office. The goal is to identify and adopt some of the concepts of the model applied sciences in teaching, learning and research for the University and Industry linkages.
